APEX is part of the epic triathlon known today. After having done Norseman and Enduroman, creating APEX was an ode to those races embracing nature, freedom and achievement. APEX is considered as one of the ultimate triathlon on the planet. It’s a race that any hard core, ultimate triathlete , adventurer should do in her/his life. It is an epic milestone starting from the French highest point to its lowest. Thomas OSTRE, APEX#1 wanted to organize a unique journey combining the impossible, the nature, the performance and the preparation. This is his vision: “I want to create a completely different race, make it a journey through the most beautiful nature of France, let the experience be more important than the finish time, and let the participants share their experience with family and friends, who will form their support. Let the race start on top of a mountain, to make it the toughest and less accessible triathlon on planet earth” “ Tomorrow, my aim is to have Athlete and support sensitive to this unique format, that can be developed from your own garden, for your own adventure. This does not have to be EPIC, to go to point A to point B as long as you have the company. " The course runs point-to-point – or Mountain to Sea : Starting at Montblanc Mountain , with an altitude of 4809 meter, starting your descent to An necy, passing the Aravis, before seeing the Annecy lake, the mid destination. If you’re really lucky, no you won’t, this isn’t about luck. This is a triathlon where you may find yourself all alone on top of a big mountain or getting scared In a descent. Where there’s no one to who sees you, hears you, this that you will encounter. It’s just you, your bike and the will to make it to the finish line. APEX is a tribute to triathlons, where you bring your best friends and family to join the party. You bring them as your support. As your haven. You join as a team, where your best friend is the one handing you your sandwich, your food, your bottle that makes you get up another step, ascent, moving.
